The bruschetta is one of the typical appetizer in Italy.
It’s an Italian appetizer of toasted bread slices rubbed with olive oil and garlic and topped with diced tomatoes, basil, salt, and pepper and served warm or with melted cheese on top; by extension, other warm appetizers made in this way. The word came from Italian “bruscare”, it means ‘to roast over coals’.
You can serve as a spread with Italian bread or crackers.
One of our favourite one is black olives spread Ligurian style.
