Rome, June 4 – Healthy Italian foods will be on the menu as part of a new promotion by the Italian government in the United States later this year. “Authentically Eatalian” is an initiative of the ministry of economic development which will be focused on healthy Italian foods and cooking. Key targets will be athletic events in Miami and Los Angeles, as sports personalities will help to promote healthy eating and lifestyle choices based on an Italian model. The idea is to tie in with an exercise campaign being promoted by Michelle Obama, wife of the US President Barack Obama, say organizers of Eatalian. At the same time, the initiative will help to raise awareness of Expo 2015, to be hosted in Milan, organizers say. It also ties in with the Year of Italian Culture in the US.
